Week Update - Thursday

1. To answer the title, soon. I will return on Friday.


2. Today you get a movie as promised, but as stated below, it is my choice of a movie.


3. Welcome to Food, Inc, a delightful movie outlining the processing of our entire food system.


4. SEM, pay careful attention to the elements of an event. Expand your understanding that virtually anything can be considered an event.


5. HSM, think back to chapter pasts where we discussed Environmental Scanning. In that chaptwer, we discussed there are governmental forces out there dictating what and how we can alter the marekting mix or what affects the implimentation of our marketing mix on the environment/market at hand. This movie should show forth some real truths of how we are all manipulated into thinking certain ideals about some of the most basic commodities....food.

Week Update - Wednesday Personal Finance Continued

1. you should have worked through the Personal Finance (Virtual Business) at the very least Lesson #1. If you did not get to finish, there may be time after the video to do it then. Please do not be ignorant and a bit stupid as to do it through the video.


2. Today you will be watching The Secret Life of the Credit Card. What is more liberating than to immediately gratify yourself by using "plastic" to get what you want. This, in no small part, was a deciding factor to the overall housing crisis we experienced and still are experiencing. More to come off of that.


3. Concerning the video - The Secret Life of the Credit Card
   Your student ID # (lunch number) will guide you to the appropriate question.
   Find the 5th number of your Student #. If 1-5, you have your question #.
   If 6-9, subtract 5 and there is your number


4. Video itself - don't worry, it will be shown up on the board. The link is provided if you feel gumption to look at it later at home.


5. Questions as you go - click hereBe prepared to give account as to the answer of assigned question.


6. Explore this companion site. Read over the answers to better understand what the credit cards have done


7. Cultural Divide - How other countries handle their consumer debt.
   


8. If there is time after you watch the video, do the "Questions as you go", explore the companion site, and read the Cultural Divide - then you may go finish your lesson #1/ Lesson #2. If you have to stop before finished, you can save the game at that time. There is the Lesson #1 (or 2,3,4 etc) online when you open up the lesson itself. You read through the tutorial, you can find it. remember that this still counts as a grade for the time I cannot be with you.
