Facilitate a discussion using slides 24-71 of the Chapter 5 PowerPoint.

Divide the class into groups of 2-3.  Give each group one of the following different vehicle types: mini-van, pick up truck, SUV, and sports car.  

Have groups list specific examples of the personal factors of potential consumers for each of the assigned vehicle in the appropriate column on the Personal Factors Chart located in the Instructional Materials folder.  

Have the groups briefly present their examples as a class discussion.  Students should fill in the remaining columns on the chart as each is discussed.  

Finally, discuss the similarities and differences of each vehicle choice based on personal factors.

-In groups of 2-3, have students pick a product of their choice (teacher should approve of the product before next steps) and write a ½ page paper comparing how culture, sub-culture, and social class might alter the way that product would be marketed.  

Facilitate a discussion using slides 4-38 of the Chapter 6 PowerPoint.

-Have students assume they are the manager of a local gift shop.  


Have them list three products/services that would be considered a straight re-buy, three that might be a modified re-buy, and three that might be a new buy or task.
